Condolences to Pam and the whole family. I met Jon for the first time when I was campaigning. We met and talked many times over the next four years. Being from Toronto and missing the Beach and Port Credit Jazz Festivals, we couldn't miss the Honey Harbour Jazz Festival. We have great memories from both that festival and the winter festival that Jon and his family made possible. I worked with Jon on an article for the Bulletin and the Gazette. Jon is missed by many throughout the township.

Jon always had a smile for every one and never forgot a name. In later years the Gazette was his passion. He treated every person the same no matter who or what you were. Kept the local council members on their toes. REST EASY!

Sincerest condolences to Jon's family. I haven't seen Jon in a few years but I had the pleasure of working with him and Pam on some community projects as well as advertising for the Chamber of Commerce that I worked for in his local publication.
Jon’s contribution to the social fabric of the community was invaluable. He and his wife Pam joined the Honey Harbour Community Cooperative around the year 2000. Jon’s artistic and leadership qualities were quite evident as he assumed the position of Chair for the Cooperative in 2002, and Pam was by his side as secretary. They always worked together on community projects and were in the forefront of organizing the Honey Harbour Canada Day Festival and the Winterfest and, when the Township of Georgian Bay Santa Claus Parade and Christmas Party looked as though it was not going to continue, he took that on for several years too. Another one of his achievements was the successful Jazz Festival started in 2006. Not surprising that the Chamber of Commerce honoured Jon and Pam in 2006 for their many contributions for the betterment of the community. Jon’s experience with the printed word and with magazine layout was obvious in the local “Gazette” which informed residents about these local events. He was a dynamic man invested in his community and will be greatly missed.

Uncle Jon (and Auntie Pam) babysat us years ago. With no kids themselves and 5 of us(ages 3 - 15) they had their hands full. An incident between kids had Jon create a mock court, whereby the ‘defendant’ and ‘plaintiff’
had their moment in court. As the recoding secretary - I made notes - that I still have. We sat at the kitchen table where all perspectives were heard. What a different way to resolve conflict. What a gift as a kid - to see a completely different way to parent. RIP Jon

Condolences to Pam and the family. I have many fond memories of Jon and especially talking politics. He brought great pride to the community and Hamlet of Honey Harbour. Serving as the president of the The Honey Harbour Community Co-op for many years, he was inspirational in bringing our events to life. It was an honour to have worked by his side for all our events.
