What can I say to such a friend that passed away? How dare you go before me? How can I endure the days ahead without your witty ways? No more chuckles. No more banters. No more special day encounters. I love you though we never met, best twitter bud ever yet! Still, I know the battle to go on without you rests even more with your family and those who got to see you often. For them, I pray they find comfort with each other in the light of the love and life you gave and the memories they can always save, near and dear to their hearts. Love never parts.

My name is John, my wife is Dee. We knew Douglas only through Twitter, never having the pleasure of meeting him in person. Despite the distance of our friendship, it was clear that Douglas was a passionate advocate for social justice and fairness, a working man who was proud to be such and, above all, a loving, warm-hearted, caring family man. On Twitter he first knew us as Raven (@MadPunyGoddess) and John Blackwillow (@blackwillow1) He came to know us as Dee and John, his dear friends in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. May you rest in peace Douglas, our dear friend in The Far North.

Don my brother, my heart breaks for you and the family. Having been accepted at an early age as one of the Paul family was a saving grace. I adored Pa Kettle for his wisdom and guidance. May he Rest In Peace my friend.

He was my best Twitter friend. He loved his family deeply. I will always remember him. He always greeted me in the morning and at night. We had some political debates and stayed friends... he'd laugh at that! My heart is broken at his passing. I can hardly breathe! Marion was his heart!
